(Clarksdale, Mississippi) – The Mississippi Broadband Association (MSBA), a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization committed to enhancing digital connectivity across Mississippi, is excited to announce the launch of its first-ever laptop program in County. This groundbreaking initiative is made possible through collaboration with Digitunity, Delta Access, ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ (ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ), the Community Foundation of North Mississippi, and AT&T.

The pilot program aims to measure the impact of large-screen devices on the educational growth of 100 eligible participants enrolled at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ. The initiative focuses on students in Career and Technical Education (CTE), Workforce, or Adult Education programs at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ who meet specific eligibility requirements:

  • Income at or below 200% of the poverty line and/or recipients of federal assistance programs
  • Currently enrolled at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ

Local department heads will finalize the selection of students to receive laptops, which represents a $25,000 investment in educational development. By providing enhanced access to technology and learning resources, the program aims to empower individuals and foster digital equity in County. Technical assistance for the laptops will be offered by Digital Literacy Coaches, managed and operated by the B.E.A.M office.
